오늘은 영국 왕립음악원 비롯 여러 Consertatoire 를 지원하는 분들께 간단하지만 중요한 정보 전달드립니다.

국내에서 음대 졸업후 영국의 종합대학내에 있는 음악과를 지원하시거나

RAM, RCM과 같은 콘서바토어의 석사과정 MMus or MA 등으로 지원하시는 분들 많이 계십니다.

퍼포먼스 위주로 실기수업만을 원하시는 분들은 콘서바토어의 석사과정이 맞고,

논문도 쓰고 음악학에 보다 방점을 찍으면서 실기도 곁들이는 대학내의 음악전공을 원하신다면 음대랭킹이 높은 종합대학으로 지원하시면 됩니다. (종합대학교 내의 Music Master’s degree course는 보다 아카데믹한 과정임)

어디를 가시든 오디션을 비롯하여 지원서류들은 꼼꼼히 잘 준비하셔야 하는데요,

오늘은 그 중 추천서 안내해 드립니다.

콘서바토어 지원은 UCAS 를 통해 진행됩니다.

추천서는 2부가 요구되고 하나는 아카데믹 추천서, 다른 하나는 실기능력을 증명해 줄 수 있는 프랙티컬 추천서가 필요합니다. 두 분의 추천인을 물색한 후 아래의 내용이 들어가도록 추천서를 작성해 대학으로 보내셔야 합니다.

We would value your opinion on the above candidate’s academic and personal qualities, with reference to his/her application for the course applied for. It would be helpful if your reference could include information on the following aspects:

- Suitability for advanced training for the musical, drama or dance profession.

- General intelligence, application and powers of concentration.

- Actual and predicted educational qualifications.

- Reliability and powers of initiative.

Please return this reference to the conservatoires indicated by the candidate by email.

For music courses, if the applicant is applying before 1 October, you should aim to send your reference to each conservatoire by the end of October. If they are applying after the October deadline, you should aim to send your reference to each conservatoire as soon as possible.

For drama, dance, and musical theatre courses, you should aim to have your reference with each conservatoire as soon as possible, and no later than one month after the published deadline date for the course.
