Development Studies 2nd in the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022

SOAS, University of London 소아스 대학교(세이 파트너 대학인) 가 개발학, 인류학 등 여러 전공에서 올해도 선전하였습니다.

오늘은 바로 2022년 QS Word University Ranking 소식을 가지고 왔는데요,

개발학 분야에서 소아스가 세계 2위에 올랐다는 뉴스입니다.

예상했던 바대로 1위에 Sussex가 자리했군요.

그 다음이 SOAS, Oxford, LSE, Cambridge입니다. Manchester도 7위를 차지했네요.

개발학은 역시 영국의 대학들이 압도적인 연구강세를 보여주고 있습니다.

다시 소아스로 돌아와,

소아스 대학의 개발학 (Development Studies)은 오래전부터 명성이 있어왔고

2019년 이래로 늘 세계 TOP 10 이내에 위치했습니다. (2021년 5위, 2020년 6위, 2019년 8위)

이 외 세계 10위까지 오른 인류학(2021년 16위)과 15위까지 오른 정치학(2021년 21위)도 눈에 띕니다.

세계 100위 안에 드는 또 다른 소아스의 주목할만한 학과로는

역사, 영어 및 문학, 언어학, 현대 언어, 신학, 신학 및 종교 연구 및 사회학입니다.

Development Studies 2nd in the world in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022

SOAS University of London has once again featured amongst the world’s elite institutions in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022. This year, Development Studies has continued to rise and is now ranked 2nd in the world (and in the UK). Development Studies has improved its ranking year on year since 2019 (ranking 5th in 2021, 6th in 2020, 8th in 2019).

Top global ranking subjects also include Anthropology which has risen to equal top 10 (16th in 2021) and Politics which has risen to rank 15 (21st in 2021).

Other notable subject rankings where SOAS is ranked in the top 100 in the world include History, English Language & Literature, Linguistics, Modern Languages, Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies and Sociology.

Development studies, Anthropology, Politics, Linguistics and Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies also ranked among the UK’s top 10. A further 11 other subjects also ranked among the top 50 in the UK.

SOAS also scored 96.7 in Academic Reputation in Development Studies.

Professor Zoë Marriage, Head of Development Studies, said:

“This is fantastic news for the department. It is a recognition of the achievements of colleagues, and of our students who apply their learning to diverse academic and professional contexts.

The whole department has responded not only to the immediate difficulties of teaching and researching through covid restrictions, but also to the intellectual, political and ethical challenges that have been posed by the global pandemic.
